Just a old fashion southern gentleman who likes to cook and entertain. Born and raised in Aiken SC. Love the North Carolina, Tennessee, North Georgia Mountains. Also enjoy a weekend in Charleston SC and the low country. Folly Beach to Savannah or love visiting the old plantations like Middleton place and Dayton Hall. I'm a History Buff and like the slower finer things in life. Recently moved to Duluth GA After 6 years in Cincinnati OH. Was transferred there from Augusta GA in 2013. Retired early to get closer to home and aging parents. The world is moving too fast any more. People Don't take the time to enjoy good food, good friends, and good times.I'm on a mission to lower carb intak and drop about 15 to 20 lbs here. We will see how it goes.

Hi @Virginiatalamantez I'm new myself Started 3 days ago mainly just been tracking the food I eat on here. This is my 1st Post. I'm on a mission to lower my A1C and hopefully about 15 lb's at the sametime. I'm Type 2 and have let my sugar get out of control again. I've done a low carb diet before and loss 20 lbs some years back. You might want to count Carbs along with calories as @morninglory1 said a 1000 a day is kind of tight to get by on. Keep you carbs between 130 & 150 and you could get by with a few more calories I would think. A true low carb diet is 130 or below. Sometimes just lowering the Carbs will make some lb's fall off by themselves. Add the exercise and it will definitely accelerate it. Good Luck!
