And here is where I blink in disbelief. I had surgery 3 months ago. I dropped an unheard of 5 lbs in a day due to a side affect that was extremely unpleasant, only to have that foiled. Not only foiled, but entirely run over and now I'm beyond the 5 lbs lost and into...this.
This skin is not something I'm comfortable in. At times, I feel like it fits well and I look good in it. And then I remember that, no, I am not in very good shape, even if round is a shape, it's not one I ever desired for myself.
I'm starting all over again with fitness. It's like having to re-learn everything.
When I started martial arts 14 years ago, I trained 2 hours a night, 4 days a week. I was a mascot for my school, I walked everywhere. I could kick your ass and not even blink.
14 years and 70 lbs later... I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that my 5'1" frame can hold an extra 70 lbs. I like to think that I could kick your ass, and for many of my friends, that aura still rings true. But I can barely lift a coffee cup without some pain. I can't run or jump or dance because the jarring affect it has on my arm. I am just now starting to walk again. (not that I couldn't, I mean as a way of recreation). I am going insane that I can't do the things I have always enjoyed. I love dancing and karate - can't do either right now. Hell, WRITING is a painful chore.
Anyone got anything for me? I'm running a blank here. Half tempted to grab a lawn chair and take up a semi permanent residence in front of the fridge. But there are better things on TV so I don't.
