This is my first day trying to get back on the wagon. In fact, I am trying to find the wagon. I am trying to find my wagon party… I am pretty sure they’re halfway on the way to the Oregon Trail, and I am still somewhere in Ohio. OK, I am actually in Oregon, but the analogy is still accurate. I started to lose weight earlier this year, but after a quick move Out of state, adjusting to my new work schedule and long commute, and new location, and trying to build interpersonal relationships 500 miles away from the only people and places I have ever known, I got a bit lackadaisical with anything resembling fitness. Macaroni and cheese has become the new normal, being something quick then I can throw together in a pinch and not starve to death. And, since I am often making two meals since my boyfriend eats meat and I do not, it means I don’t have to put forth a lot of additional effort either. Often I find myself too tired and too drained to even want to worry about food. Today we are going grocery shopping after my boyfriend gets off work. I’m going to try to pick up some healthy options that I can zap in a pinch but still produce flavor and something satiable. I stepped on the scale for the first time in a long time. Amazingly, I’ve only gained seven more pounds since the last time that I bothered to check out the scale. But I figure this is a good time to curb the problem before and shoots to 400 pounds.
