Today will be challenging because I didn't get to go home last night. So I have to eat out for all meals. I went through and recorded my probably breakfast, lunch and snacks to set a plan for myself. If I stick to the plan, I still have 1000 calories to spare before dinner. We are celebrating Valentine's day one day late, so we are going out for dinner. I will try to choose something healthy and without too much fat. I'm also taking my phytosterols to block uptake of cholesterol from these purchased foods. I will weigh myself tomorrow morning.

My run today was less unpleasant than previous. I was running on the indoor track, but unfortunately I had left my ipod in my car and didn't have time to go out an retrieve it (strict 45 minutes for lunch and I wanted to run for 30). So I listened to some music on my phone and timed myself with my watch. I walked a lap, then ran 5. At the end, I walked a lap, then ran as fast as I could for the last lap. I was really done, but felt good.

Feeling hungry at morning coffee break. Sometimes I eat my lunch at morning coffee break on days like this, then I have to buy a lunch at lunch time when I'm hungry again. Yesterday I bought some heart-healthy foods to keep in my office, so today I ate some of those as a snack. Ten olives, 10 rice crackers and half an avocado. I found that entering the foods into the food diary before I ate them helped me to decide how much to eat. Plus the serving size was defined, so I knew exactly I was letting myself eat before I started. I find it's easy with something like olives to just start and then I don't count and don't stop. This time I knew that the limit was 10, so I counted and enjoyed each one. And I still have my lunch to look forward to. Next challenge: I need to do a short run before I eat lunch.

The journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step. Well this is pound 1. Good bye. It was nice gaining you, but nicer to see you go. Don't worry, you won't be lonely, many of your friends will be leaving soon. Like, at least 25 of them. Yeah!

Well, I started off will all intentions, and so far, I'm sticking to it, but it has been a challenging day. I wanted to run at lunch, but instead I had to attend a meeting. I had brought my soup for lunch, but food was provided; I ate my soup anyway. Then, toward the end of the meeting were brought out big sticky doughnuts, just my favorite! And chocolate ones! I kept my head on my goal and didn't even have a bite. I had a snack of carrots in the afternoon, but it's two hours before dinner and my stomach is grumbling already.
I bought phytosterols to add to my supplements to block cholesterol uptake. I will record my weight tomorrow no matter what, but this morning it was steady at 216.4. Tomorrow I have to see the dentist in the morning, so I'm not likely to be wanting much lunch at any rate.
I also did day 1 of the 100 push up challenge. I can't believe I will ever get to 10 consecutive ones, let alone 100. Oh well, one day at a time.
I plan to have a run on the treadmill at home this evening to make up for the missed run at lunch.
