YAY, I luv seeing that scale going down again! I was afraid I had gained 1 or 2 lbs this last week. Hubby's boss's wife went to Hawaii & brought me back a cute little wooden turtle fridgie magnet that says "Hawaii" on it, & a little can of Macadamia nuts with a little wooden bowl to serve them in. I was very surprised, because although she is a very nice person & we chat when we see each other at my hubby's work, we're not super close. Mostly because they live about 15 miles away in another town. I crochet, so I'll find something very special to make for her for this Christmas. I actually have a dear friend & former next door neighbor who lives on Maui, & have dreamed for years of going to visit her. I'm glad this lady got to go, & that she had fun. She has lived in the country all her life & never really been anywhere but here. I've seen over half of the US between vacations with my parents & a cross country trip Hubby & I took when he got out of the Navy, so I've been very blessed in seeing much of America's beauty. I have been getting more serious about doing my low impact chair exercises & using my exercycle, & I think that made me lose weight in spite of eating the macadamias, & also our 2 DD's & I did our monthly grocery shopping together yesterday & afterwards we ate at Home Town Buffet. I did very well with my meal,as I knew I had not behaved all that well before this, & I'm so happy that my resistance paid off. I haven't eaten at HTB in years because it's 60 miles each way from our home. When we go to the "big city" it's in, we always have a specific purpose (usually a Dr's appt), so we get there, do what we must then get back home, no dilly-dallying. This is Hubby's thinking, not mine. If it was up to me, while there we would visit the Michael's craft store & the Mall, & we'd have to eat out at least once. So, it's a good thing it's not up to me, huh? LOL! Anyway, I'm happy as a cricket,& very motivated to keep up with my exercises. So let's all keep on with exercising & making good food choices, we have this fat thing nailed to the wall, LOL! Hugz, GLAMMER

I am so happy that my weight is FINALLY on a downward trend again! I have purposed in my heart to keep eating right, & to do my low impact strengthening & stretching exercises EVERY DAY, & to exercycle at least twice a week. I was doing it for 1/2 hour each time, but in this heat (100+ degrees most days right now) my last time was only about 20 minutes. Still, anything is better than nothing. I need to obtain 2 1-lb dumb bells for my stretching & strengthening exercises. Right now I'm using a rock (paper weight) in one hand & a book in the other. They're about 1 lb each, but I still hope to get the dumb bells. Hubby just told me I should hold our Yorkie "General" in one hand, & his girlie friend "Honey Bear" in the other, LOL! But I explained that they weigh about 5 lbs each, & they wiggle around way too much, so that just won't work, hee hee. It feels so good to KNOW that once I do lose the weight it will STAY OFF, because my eating habits will have changed permanently. Have a great week everyone! ((((Skinny HUGS)))), GLAMMER

Hi Everyone! Sorry I didn't post on SUN as I like to do, but my computer was misbehaving & going very slowly, so I just gave up & played games offline. Yesterday was my birthday, & Hubby took me to dinner at Carlos' "Mexican Restaurante", my fave eatery. I had a shrimp, crab & veggie dish that is topped with cheese. I'd never ordered it before & it was so good, & not expensive either. Yes, I'm cheap, LOL! I'm enjoying finally seeing the line on my weight chart going steadily down again, even if it is only a teeny bit at a time. Hubby is laying down for his before work nap, so of course the dogs started barking frantically, as usual. I hushed them, then heard a sound on our front porch that startled me. It was a FedEx delivery, my new sandals that our youngest daughter ordered for me last week. They are Sketchers, & are very comfortable. My skin is very sensitive to rough textures, but the straps on these are covered with soft cloth & don't bother me at all at least so far. I'm wearing them now, just to "break them in" a bit while I'm sitting here so hopefully when I walk in them they'll be partly adjusted to my feet & will stay comfy. We've had a brush fire near here that started Monday night. It has burned over 230 acres so far, but no houses or lives lost thanks to our diligent fire fighters. We've seen helicopters & a renovated WWII bomber plane, flying up & down our creek behind our house, hauling water picked up from the lake down our road, & also some fire retardant to drop onto the fire. I took some good pics & need to get them downloaded onto DVD disks before our SIL changes me over to my new computer, which should happen in the next week or so hopefully. They're busy moving, so this delayed getting my computer ready. It's good to feel excited again about losing weight, I was starting to feel like there was nothing I could do to lose the necessary weight for my hip replacement. Now I'm feeling like "I CAN DO THIS" once again. Thank you all for your encouragement, & may you have a bright & blessed day. ((HUGS)) Glammer
