Yesterday didn't start well and it didn't end well. I didn't bother logging my food. I made poor decisions yesterday. Although, I did go see the place and it was way to small for us. But, I really like the area and now I have it narrowed down to where I will be looking. When I get my next check I intend to hire a realtor to do the leg work for me. Back to the grind today. Sort of. Running late and it snowed. My scrubs are de-wrinkling in the dryer and then I have to run out the door to wait for my car to warm up. I should be on the road right now. Still sore from yesterdays fall and seriously considered calling off, but I work home health and you know how that goes...

My day started with slipping on black ice and falling with one of my toddlers in my arms. He is fine, but my knee and ankle are pretty banged up. I'm worried about what this will to do my exercise regimen. Sleep was not my friend last night. I think it's because I'm nervous. I have been looking to relocate for quite some time and today I am going to look at a place that sound perfect. It's 45 miles away. This is a distance that I want to be away from where I am now. It hit me pretty hard last night that this is a real possibility that I will finally get out of here! It's a goal I have been working toward all my life. It took having children to make it happen. I don't want them to grow up in this area, it was bad when I was a kid and today it is much worse. Of course, I've been here almost 30 years and I've established many friends over the years and I don't know how prepared I am to give up the people. I know I can visit, but everyone knows it's not the same.

Looking back on the last 2 days it is clear that I need some help. I have a vigorous exercise schedule and I know too few calories will begin to slow my metabolism and then burn muscle instead of fat. I need healthy foods with a higher calorie count. My RDI is 2000 and I'm not even hitting 1000. I would like to hit a minimum of 1400. I rarely have a sweet tooth and am not fond of fruits and I have cut out most of the carbs that don't come from my vegetables. With the exception of when I have to eat on the go. I am trying to get better organized so I have meals at the ready. In the mean time, does anyone have any suggestions on foods that will up my calorie intake? I don't want anything loaded with carbs. I also cut out artificial sweeteners.

Another day and I'm running late for work. Just enough time to brew a cup of coffee (thanks keuring!) Thank goodness I work in scrubs or I'd be in serious trouble! Of course this means eating on the go as 20 mins to get up and out of the house doesn't leave me time to cook breakfast. Perhaps I'll start making my scramble at night and pop it in the microwave in the morning? Seems as though I'll be sitting in another drive through. Ugh! I had one of those egg white sandwiches from Dunkin Donuts that is low cal but high carb. It wasn't so bad and it sustained me until late afternoon. But I am concerned about my lack of appetite. I know too few calories when dieting is also bad. When I get home from work I'm going to do some more research and see what healthy options have a bit higher of a calorie count so I can lose fat and not muscle. And with that, I am off to my cup of black coffee and the wonderful world of health care!

Well, today is my weigh in day. I do this at the gym before my class. I know weighing myself in the afternoon doesn't give an accurate reading, but at least it's the same time every week (4:30 est. I am not anticipating any weight loss. I didn't do the best food wise this week, but at least I ditched to hooch (except for one day, but let us not discuss that). I am ready for my afternoon class which is a total body work out (with weights). I find that I am much more inclined to finish a work out in front of a class full of people rather that inside the privacy of my home. I know that one should have protein after a workout and I do have the powder to to mix the drink, but it's loaded with carbs. I'm curious if there are any (reasonably priced) ones out there that are low carb?
