gaining 0.1 lb a week

Well, a two pound difference is a lot more than I expected. I guess I should have waited, and weighed in on Monday morning for my starting weight, to be more accurate. Oh well.

losing 7.0 lb a week

Forgot to weigh myself before I ate breakfast this morning, but I weighed for my starting weight last night, so I guess it doesn't matter much. I'm going to try to weigh myself every day, just because it will make me think about trying to lose weight every day, even though I know there's a lot of normal fluctuation in your weight from day to day.
I'll just have to make sure I don't forget tomorrow.

Well, it turns out that the strep I got treated, that was supposedly all gone sometime last week, has returned. So now I'm on some antibiotics again, and I really hope it's gone for good after this time. So I'm not going to try as hard as I was planning on, because I feel like crap, and I think it'll be more important for me to rest than to lose weight, at least until I'm feeling better.
Disappointing setback, though.

Well, it's been a really long time since I've been on here, but I really need to lose some weight, so I figured I'd come back. I like the setup of the site, it's easy to keep track of everything.
Found something one of my friends recommended, the "Public Humiliation Diet" - not really about humiliation, it just encourages you to keep going by forcing yourself to share your results with other people. So rather than feeling bad alone when you do poorly on your diet, you get motivated to do better, because everyone else sees when you do poorly, too. Here's a link, if anybody wants to read about it - it's just a bunch of ideas this guy put together, that seems like it will work well. http://deadspin.com/5545674/the-public-humiliation-diet-a-how+to
To go with that, I think I'm going to try to start posting my weight on Twitter. It might make me work a little harder.
Going out to buy a scale of my very own today - the one my family has isn't very reliable, and I think I might weigh myself more if I have my own, set up in my room so that I can't forget.
Time to start working on all of this again. I feel pretty good about it, right now - hopefully that lasts.
