Hi everyone! I need some advise regarding my mysterious weight gain. I'm been on Keto for the last year and I've lost 80 +/- pounds. I keep my carbs to 20 or less per day. For the last two month I've limited my calories as well. I'm allotted 1600 (per MACRO's), but most of the time I'm right around 1200. During the last two months weight has gone up & down approx. 8 pounds. I'm not sedentary, I walk approx. 2 to 5 miles every day, so-says the Fitbit anyway. My Keto strips read 15 to 40 every day. Sometimes even higher. I'm not lifting, so I'm not building muscle. If you can help, please do so. I'm confused. Thanks everyone.

I had my annual checkup today. My Dr. is thrilled with the results. Everything was in the normal/good range, including my cholesterol, which has improved dramatically. I was worried about cholesterol because of the amount of animal fat I am eating. "Red meat and butter gives you high cholesterol and lead to clogged arteries and heart failure." BS I say! My cholesterol is perfect, or so my doctor says anyway! My A1C has improved as well. Eleven months ago I had an A1C of 8.6 and was diagnosed with Diabetes. Doctor put me on meds. Four months ago my A1C was still over 6. The Doctor said the meds must be working. I told him I never even started taking them. I told him I started Keto and changed my eating habits. He asked to hear more about Keto. Today my A1C is 5.0. Counting calories won't do that. I still have a bunch weight to lose, but Keto has improved all of my blood work. I didn't put it on over-night, but losing 86 pounds in less than a year is good. For me, Keto was and is the answer.
