Well, it's been a while since I recorded an entry, so I thought I would put a few things down.
I'm glad to report that I am still living the Atkins Lifestyle, it is probably easier since my wife has joined me in eating the way I prepare food. Since I am the main cook of the family, everyone has to eat what I eat, or go somewhere else. They don't mind though, because I'm usually grilling or BBQing something outside, or grilling veggies and smothering them with Mozzerella Cheese, or making stir fry without rice.
I believe that once you get into the lifestyle, it becomes more of a habit and a daily routine, and you just don't think about it. I still have about 9 lbs to go to reach my goal, but I may not stop there. I don't want to go too far, but I will let my body decide that. I will post a new picture soon to show you how I'm doing compared to when I started.
I'm still have serious problems with my Spondolyotheses thou and my Chiropractor and my Spine Surgeon both say I have no other options left, it's either learn to live with the pain, or have the Fusion Surgery. If I do the surgery I'm going to wait until October, and then use the Winter months to recover. I expect to loose a significant amount of weight post surgery, but I will have to guard against weight gain from not being able to be active for several months. But I'll be alright I'm sure. I have a two new grandchildren due in January 2009, from two different children of course, and I have to be ready to do my PawPaw Part for them.

Having a Facet Joint Block on Wednesday. Have some idea of what to expect, just hope it works. I've been fighting the depression that comes with cronic pain, and its hard. The pain has been slowly increasing by the day, so this spinal block is one more step to try to get relief. Wish me luck. Hasn't been that hard to stick to the Diet, cause I'm never hungry. Have to make myself eat.

It's been a while, so I thought I would record a few thoughts. I think I've been doing pretty good on my eating, considering what I've been going through with my Spondylolisthesis. It's taken a turn for the worse, and my doctor wants to do a facet joint block, to see if that will ease the pain. The problem is, my symptoms now include muscle weakness, numbness, and pain. My doctor also said we may be running out of options, which means fusion surgery. With all of that going on, I'm still sticking to my Atkins' Lifestyle, which is a testiment to the success of the diet. With the help and encouragement of all of you, especially sararay, I have been able to stick to alot of my commitmetns as far as my weight. I still have a bit to go, but I have no doubt I can make it.
