What was the catalyst that made you decide to lose weight?
It was many things. I was laid off December 27, 2009, and gained about 20 pounds in 8 months, which is fairly ridiculous, if you ask me. I was approaching the highest I had ever weighed, and knew that it was even worse, because I don't have the muscle tone I used to have. Which means more of me was fat, and my stretch marks were proving it.

Most of all, it was seeing my overweight uncle, Chuck, go through being diagnosed with stomach cancer, which was stage 4 by the time they found it at the end of October. Reading up on gastric cancer, and other cancers, really knocked some sense into me about eating my fruits and veggies. Chuck passed away last week, less than 2 months after his diagnosis. His funeral was on Monday. I am more determined than I ever have been in my life to make a change in my health. Every pound that I lose is in part because of Chuck, and his battle.

Confession Time...what's your secret?!?!?!?
Health is my biggest concern. Too many problems already, and more in the family that I might have to look forward to in my future if I don't do something about it.

I haven't been much under 200 pounds since I graduated in 1994 at 210. I've bounced around from 195 to 236 pounds in the past 16 years.

I was always the chubby one in high school. The shy one. The picked-on one. I would love to go back to a reunion and blow them away. Heck... I would love to run into my old flame and have his tongue hit the floor.

Oh, and not having my legs rub together enough to spark a fire when I wear pantyhose would be excellent.
