Trying hard to stay on plan. Working on decreasing carbs, especially bread.
Today I've been attempting a new thing, which is to eat several small meals/snacks during the entire day, also drinking more water. The idea is I tend to concentrate in 3 meals, and dinner is the heaviest. It's hard to do, but worth trying. Had a really light breakfast: yogurt and my usually latte. Then had popcorn (94% fat free kettle corn) and an Honest Ade cranberry lemonade. Going to be making a roast tonight, so dinner will be heavier.
Onwards!

Well, hit my first really big challenge: I actually weighed myself Thursday and I was up, and I could pretty well figure out why. I indulged myself a couple of times. I had a vegan icecream (Coconut milk based) at a place nearby (I'm lactose intolerant) and I suspect, although I recorded it as around 250 or so it was probably way more than that. No way to really count it. I could have chosen a much smaller serving than I had, but didn't and had it in a waffle cone.
I've also eaten larger meals a couple of times this past week.
The good news is I weighed myself Friday morning and was actually down. So, as of right now, I am back in this; I ate pretty well today. Am going to try to record everything now. And NOT let slipups and indulgences drive me away from my focus!

We got lucky again: got in my Monday walk at Alki, although there was something of a stiff wind, it was actually a nice mostly sunny spring day! Then went off and did some shopping.

The weather is going to be nice today (gee, some sun here in Seattle! We've had one of the coldest and wettest starts to April on record.) So I will be meeting up with at least one of my walking buddies at noon to go walking around the Alki area. It's so pretty to walk there, lots of people go there (and some with their dogs too). They've built walking paths, and along the beach area, it's a divided path so bicycles, joggers and skaters have one side and walkers have the other. It can be windy there, but you get such lovely views across Elliot Bay to Seattle, and then out into the Sound. I love walking there.
Yesterday I surprised myself: I not only did 15 minutes of my indoor walking (watching the Price is Right) but I also then got on the exercycle for another 15 minutes at a moderate pace. Yay me!
Of course I am also getting a little extra exercise chasing our two new kittens, Kyoto and Kiki, whom we just adopted last weekend. They are a pair of 5 1/2 month old sisters, and of course full of energy and the desire to get into everything! Lots of making sure they aren't getting themselves in trouble. (It's always fun trying to convince cats and kittens that just because they are CAPABLE of climbing up/jumping up onto something doesn't mean they SHOULD do so!)
An update: Lori and I had a wonderful walk out by Alki. Nearly ideal spring weather. I also managed to do a very good thing: resisted temptation regarding a late lunch. Could have really messed up and indulged myself (I was thinking a lot about a certain bakery and their extraordinary twice baked almond croissants), but instead got a pretty good sandwich at QFC, with roast beef on a whole wheat ciabatta, with lots of vegies. When I walked out to my car with the sandwich in a bag, and having bought nothing but that sandwich, I felt really good.

Got on the scale this morning and YAHOO!!! I am in Onederland! I feel really good. I did just a bit of walking yesterday, but then last night while watching Survivor, I did 20 minutes on the bike, starting at level 1 and at times pushing up to level 4, which is really good for me.
I think if I can continue doing the bike at least two or three times a week, this will be a very good exercise for me. It's a Schwinn recumbent exercycle that we got at Sears, about $500. Very good investment, one of the best of the less expensive bikes on the market.
