CJT1217's Journal, 01 June 2012

With a mix of weights, running, and hiking, the weight loss has "slowed" but I know for sure it's a mixture of leaning up and lean muscle gain. Yesterday's exercise included a 1.5 mile run and a back and bis workout before work, then two hikes after work, the first where I busted my ass with a 20 pound pack on for 2 hours/5 miles and then an easy 1.5 hour/3 miles hike at another park. Now it's two days of recuperation to let the sore muscles and sore feet heal up!!

It's more motivation! If I can keep this up, the plan is to have aa trimmed down core by my Yosemite trip on the weekend of the 16th and then a hopefully even more defined abs by the end of June when I go to Chicago for a conference!

ok sorry to change the subject from nakedness, mankini's and LMFAO, but have you ever checked out the website paleoplan.com? My coworker told me about it and although I haven't personally tried any of the recipes (shooting for breakfast tomorrow) they look amazing. I have listened to many podcasts about both Mark Sisson and Paleo dieting, but never found any good tips for recipes. I was impressed with this website. ok, now everyone can go back to talking about nakedness... I know, that's more fun than diet talk!!!! :)

What is a "back and bis" workout? - Back and biceps maybe? Where do you like to go hiking?
01 Jun 12 by member: sjcoray
SJ, ya, back and biceps. I keep it simple and work the muscle groups from a couple different angles to maximize the effectiveness of the workout in as little time as possible; Lat pulldown, bent over row, standing row, high pulley bicep curl, reverse curl, and rotating curl. 3 sets of each with an increase in reps per set...I hike at Tilden and Briones State parks in the San Francisco bay area. Love those parks! There's so many trails that even after all this time, I havnt gotten bored with them! :D oooh, paleoplan.com looks cool. I'll check that out! As far as eating primal, the basic principal is if our ancestors didnt have it to eat thousands of years ago, then don't eat it. Although, I don't know if they had pork rinds, cheese, and mayo that far back, but hey, it's low carb! whoo-hoo!
