Food, food, food. I was so tired, yesterday, I could barely keep my eyes open. Spent the day trying to catch up on bookkeeping that I had let slide while setting up the new hard drive, but found I had still more missing files so had to spend more time on that. After a little workout, I decided I had better work on it, more. Stopped at the Thriftway on my way, and before I knew it I was buying red wine and pulled pork -- ethical, healthy eating. Yet, this morning, I feel better than I did, yesterday morning, even though the heavy dinner and wine kept me awake much of the night. Somehow, meat stimulates me, makes my mind clear, whereas legumes make me groggy and foggy. At the same time, my joints hurt more when I eat meat. Vegetables seem best for me, but I can't live on them alone.

I don't think you have to stop eating meat altogether. Dr. Fuhrman says that it's okay to eat in moderation "1-2 servings a week", and there are recipe's for turkey and chicken in the "Eat to Live" book. I eat animal products whether it be eggs, fish, poultry, or wild game almost daily, but I keep the portions smaller than what is recommended by the portion control diets. Traditional diets say to measure the size of your palm as a portion of cooked meat, I eat only half of that. Maybe you should try eating smaller portions with dinner or after you workout, then assess how you feel. By the way, thanks for the invite to the nutrient group.
