I'm beginning to think my scale is screwed up. I've been on this diet for just over 3 weeks and have only lost 5 lbs? And I weight a LOT! (normally, the more you weigh, the more loss in the beginning. After I weighed myself this morning, I waited a minute or so and stood back on the scale. It said I was 2 lbs heaver! How can that be? 1 minute later? Does that sound right? no. I have been following this with no cheats ... doesn't seem right. Haven't measured my gut, but seems like it's getting smaller? VERRRRRRRRY frustrated.
274.2 lb Lost so far: 5.8 lb.    Still to go: 104.2 lb.    Diet followed 100%.
losing 0.9 lb a week

Maybe try drinking more water, eating more often and exercising....and possibly measuring yourself instead of weighing....

Sadvic, have you done measurements of your body? Have you lost inches? Have you begun an exercise program that can cause an increase in your muscles? Could TOM be ready to knock on your door?

Ok - I just looked at your food calendar. If you are following Induction and aiming for 20 net carbs, you have gone over. Another thing, I dont see enough protein. You should really aim to have at least 4 oz of protein with every meal. Lastly, I also see you are consuming about 3 Atkins products a day. According to the new style Atkins, you cant do more than two. HOWEVER - many, many, many people find that they CANNOT lose weight when eating the Atkins bars. The first thing I would do is take those out immediately! 1. no more bars 2. more protein 3. at least 1/2 your body weight converted to oz of water = 137 oz Do this for at least a week and I can guarantee you will see a drop.

Five pounds is a great loss. Maybe you were not retaining water in the beginning like some other people so you didn't see as a big a loss. That just means you are losing the fat/inches which is more important.

A friend told me to go to the store and pick up a bag of something that weighs 5 lbs. and carry it around and that I would appreciate what a big deal those five extra lbs. were to carry around on me. Hang in there - if you are following the plan properly (I agree w/kmartin's suggestions for change) it will come off. Just be patient and don't give up on yourself. You deserve a healthy body and you will get there with persistence.
