iulani's Journal, 10 March 2017

Weighed in about the same. I had to bake and freeze some cakes for my grandson's birthday on the 21st of this month. Had no appetite at all but did sample a small cupcake as I have never tried this mix before...it was something my hubby had in his food storage pantry and it was pretty good.

I will get the odds and ends I need to decorate the little guys cake...Mickey Mouse clubhouse theme...I am NOT going over the top as I have in past years...Keeping it simple. Time does not allow with all the juggling and caring full-time for my mother-in-law. This is way more draining than working. I am not complaining, but Damn, who knew staying home would be this hard? I only hope I can ease her fears and continue to be kind day after day after day after day...We will have help next week, and that will be a nice break.

Hey Buddies, it's Friday and Enjoy your weekend!

I understand the hard work it takes to care for an elderly parent. You are a very special person to take on the challenge. I speak from experience, and know that you walk among saints. Taking advantage of any help when it arrives is key. So pamper yourself and enjoy. God bless you.

Lulani, I've also cared for several elders. It is a lot of work, and involves putting other priorities on hold. I hope that your efforts a re appreciated!

Bless you iulani, I am one of those "youngers" from a family with genetic born illnesses that has needed caregiving help on and off and there is nothing harder to find or more appreciated. Hang in there. Know that staying there is exhausting from the other side too. 😇
