Social eating at a funeral is a pain.... Gained 2lbs in 2 days. I dont know what to do any more because counting calories is not working like I want it to... I always feel like I'm starving and I'm always tired. I can always get up to about 5 to 8 pounds off but then I just gain it again. This is very depressing and discouraging....

Counting calories works but you have to stay consistent. No matter what diet you do, you have to make changes and make them permanent. It takes time to make new habits. Losing weight and exercising can make you feel less tired, stronger mentally and physically and more optimistic. You are still 3 pounds down. Focus on getting quality food. Lean protein and high fiber foods will keep you fuller longer. Eat 5 or 6 smaller meals instead of 3 bigger ones with some protein at each meal. You have to be mentally ready to lose weight. Keep your caloric intake for 1500 a day for a week and see what happens. Focus on whole foods and less processed foods (they contain tons of sodium and can make you retain water). Drink 6-8 cups liquids/water daily. Be active! Start being proactive about your health. Read magazines, books, articles online about nutrition and fitness. Get excited and motivated about losing weight. You can do it.

90% of what you just said is what I have been doing. I read stuff all the time. I have been trying to get more active. I don't think I could ever do 1500 calories because I am having trouble just doing 2000. I try to snack but it cuts into my calorie numbers. This counting thing is just to complicated to keep track of and to put into daily life. I am always feeling guilty when I eat something but I eat because I am hungry. All I drink is water and I drink often. I have made a habit of walking my dog everyday but that is the only habit I have developed. I am thinking of taking this into a new direction. I just have to figure out what that is. I keep trying to calorie count (this isn't my first time doing it) and it never works for me. There has got to be a better way.
