Quick question, did you weigh yourself when you got home to make sure the scales weigh the same? Your weight in the morning may be a few pounds lighter than your weight at night. It just happens, that's why a lot of people recommend weighing at the same time each weigh in.

I didn't, I should have! I couldn't understand why my weight was so different at the doctor's office. But I don't have convenient access to a scale at home, so I weigh myself whenever the opportunity arises. (Its in my roommates bathroom and the doors usually locked. I feel weird asking to use their scale)

i had weight loss surgery so i was always weighing myself after...the thing is RoseTampa is right the times you weigh yourself is different. you need to weigh yourself the same time every time you weigh in. plus i like to weigh myself after using the restroom. having weight loss surgery i dont have bm as often so sometimes i'm a little heavier because the food hasn't completely passed through.

My favorite scale ever is on sale on Amazon. It's under 16 dollars and it's very accurate. BalanceFrom High Accuracy Digital Bathroom Scale with 4.3" Large Backlight Display and Step-on Technology It has weighed the same as my doctor's scale since I got it. I just put good batteries in it and they last a long time. Truthfully almost all the scales from this brand have been good. Avoid the etekcity ones, I've had several problems with them. A good scale doesn't have to be expensive.

Another thing to consider is the clothing you are wearing at the doctor's office. Especially in the winter, that can add up to at least 2-3 lbs. and maybe even more.

Keep in mind Ghore some doctor offices have the worst scales, some of them are not calibrated and old

Thanks so much for the encouragement and advice you guys! And about the different scales, I feel it's way better to use just one, even if it may be a bit off, if it's the only scale you are using it'll be accurate to itself.

Its normal to fluctuate +/-5 lbs. So don't be to hard on yourself! Reference-me, student nurse
