Well this is my second day on here. Do not know how it works or what to do for sure, Do you guys weigh everyday or once a week, I have been fighting my weight for several years, I get on a diet and lose 50 pounds but when I move somewhere I Cannot keep on my diet, I was tutting in a recipe to find out the carbs and later yesterday this site came up I think it is cool hope I can loose this weight before I go to Arizona to visit my daughter in Dec. At least 15- to 20

Weigh daily in the morning after you pee. Pay no attention to the individual daily points, but the trend lines. Calcualte weekly averages, maybe even take a running 7 day average. Weigh is fairly volatile because of sodium, food in the digestive tract, glycogen etc... weighing every once in a while will put even more emphasis on individual points, which makes it very hard tell what's actually going on. A lot of people will 'cheat' or 'game' their weigh ins in a way that you cant do when you weigh daily.

This is a great accountability site, and most folks are very supportive. And knowledgeable, too!

I recommend keeping track of all of your food and activity. Logging my food really helped me see where I needed to make improvements in my eating patterns. Good luck to you.

Hi Djalta, you asked on my journal how I log my weigh ins. I weigh every day but have not recorded it for a bit. I seem to be maintaining but I'm not happy about that! :) I still have around 60 pounds to lose...I need to get going again! Some folks get depressed if they see a gain and for them it is better to maybe weigh every week or so. I like to know where my weight is and if it's up, I'm challenged to tweak my menu for a better result the next day. There are several variables as to why your weight would be up or down...holding on to water, hormones, lack of sleep etc. so you can't let a small gain make you crazy :) This is a great supportive group here, hope you enjoy your time...welcome!

Thanks everyone, I did weigh yesterday and had gained 1 lb it made me mad if I weigh once a week I liked it when I was on weight watchers years ago I had lost 50 lbs then. But moved back home and then I gained it all back, I will start weighing in the mornings and keep it up I do I tried to put things in on my cell when I was in town and it would not record it so I have to do it on my IPad, It told me the sight was not for androids,, I always have problems, not a internet person. So I will record it on paper then put it on here with the I pad. I really like your support thanks again. djalta

I have the app on my android phone and it works just fine for logging food and activities. If I want to read the journal entries, I have to go to internet to the full site.

I have a hard time in putting some things in the daily menu I guess that is what you call it. Some things it will not recognize So I guess what the nutrients are, I do look forward to putting things down though my had writing is the pits so now it is all on the iPad. I really I joy the comments from you it is nice to get support and not have to do it alone. I am going to go for a walk before it rains, we are in the mountains as well so I do not have to worry about traffic or dogs. Just the road and the deer, elk and turkey. Thanks
