I'm feeling very frustrated. But definately not willing to give up! I've been walking 2 miles every day. They say you can lose 8 to 13 pounds during Phase I and I have only lost 3 pounds in a week and half. I have eliminated all sugar and feel I have been following the diet well. What am I doing wrong?

Breakfast - Quiche made with water, broccoli, mushrooms and reduced fat Muz Cheese and 3 slices ham. - 4 servings.

Lunch - Salad with Chicken Breast, 1 oz. 75% fat free cheese, and oil and vinegar.

Dinner - Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Mashed Cauliflower.

Lots of Coffee with Sugar Free French Vanila Creamer.
143.0 lb Lost so far: 3.2 lb.    Still to go: 18.0 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

That 8 - 13 pounds is not realistic. Keep looking on this site, and you will see that people more often than not, lose slowly.....slowly....Like me: I lost 6 pounds in about 8 weeks. I do 3 snacks a day, and don't weigh my protein, so I almost gave up when today I dropped a pound making a grand total of 6 pounds. I have been at 5 pound loss for 7 weeks, and one down today (by the time I weigh in officially, I will probably be the same 5 pounds and IM NOT giving up. My grown daughters say to me WHAT 5 pounds still????? WHATS THE POINT. The point is not everyone loses at the same rate and if you are feeling well on SBD, no urges and satsified., stick with it and view any loss (not gain) as a successful program.

I only lost about 8 pounds on my initial Phase 1. It's sort of the price of admission though (try not to be slipping here, follow it closely). Also, remember that no matter how good SBD is, it's going to be boil down to calories in minus calories out (with certain caveats). Even SBD stresses that while it is not necessary to count calories, calories are important. Be patient, you will most likely drop 3 or 4 pounds in a day shortly. Keep up the good work mmonsiegneur!

PLease remember tha though I lost 8 pounds my first week, thats only for now and also I am not feeling well. Im very ill right now. I am struggling to keep enough protien in my diet..I dont feel hungry. I am only eating fish and vegitables. I am also on two blood pressure medications now and one of which is a water pill so I bet my weight is all water wieght, there is no difference in the way my clothes fit right now. Every body is different as others have ponted out but I believe you are on the track to a steady weight loss that will stick with you. You'll see it, your work and effort will certainly pay off! You are doing it the right way! Im proud of you!

Don't be frustrated. Know that we all will shed it at a different rate, in different areas and different amounts. The bottom line is, that you are eating healthier and your body WILL thank and repay you... you have to be patient as to when. :) Regardless of the weight, your insides are becoming healthier because you are taking care of what you are putting inside! :) Keep up the great work and yes, continue journaling, as it will show where your body may or may not be tolerating certain foods. :)
