TGIF!!! I'm a little frustrated that I'm only losing 2 lbs a week on average. The last time I did South Beach I lost 20 lbs + in six weeks. Of course, I was younger so maybe my metabolism has slowed down since then. I'm trying to keep looking at this from a positive angle. I've lost 10 lbs since my highest recorded weight and I am very happy about that! We are having our engagement/housewarming party on February 27th so I'd love to lose another 10 lbs between now and then.

This weekend will be a struggle. My birthday is Monday (I'll be 31!) and Salem is taking me to Morton's Steakhouse tomorrow night. I'm going to cut the steak into a portion size I'm allowed to have and have the rest of it boxed up immediately so I don't overeat. I will get the healthiest veggies offered and only have 2 bites of the dessert. Well, that's my goal anyways! :)

We had a baby shower for 2 coworkers yesterday. They are due one day apart! I was so proud of myself for not blowing my diet. I avoided the cake, sandwiches, chips, pizza-- it was weird, I didn't even care. I guess my cravings for that kind of crap have subsided. I got a variety of fresh fruit and had that instead.

I only had 14.5 points worth of food yesterday. I'm allowed 20. They were all South Beach approved foods too. I think that was probably bad that I didn't eat "enough" but like Info says if you aren't hungry why eat?

EATING:
B: cereal + milk
L: yogurt, fruit, coffee
S: cheese, popcorn, more fruit, jello, Red Bull
D: N/A

WATER:
I've been doing great with this, bring a water bottle to work and making sure to fill it 4 times each day. Definitely got 8 glasses in

EXERCISE:
DVD :)

THREE THINGS I'M THANKFUL FOR TODAY:
1) A nice boss
2) A 401(K) statement with a balance HIGHER than I was expecting
3) My engagement ring is no longer a struggle to take on and off

Have a great Friday and welcome to the weekend everyone!!! :)

Great job at the shower. i think if you eat fewer points than you are allowed once in awhile it's not going to wreak havoc. I think the problem is if you do it all the time. As for the metabolism slowing--yes there is a HUGE difference in dieting now that I'm older. I'm not sure how old you are but my metabolism dramatically changed when I was in my mid-late 20s. In my early 20s I would eat light for three days and lose 3 lbs. Even though I was skinny and weighed 20 lbs less than I do now. Now I really have to watch every single thing that goes into my mouth for weeks to see those same results. Did you have more to lose that last time? It really is amazing how much more quickly the first 20lbs came off versus this last 10. But you are doing great! 2 lbs a week is really really good stuff. Have a good weekend, too.

Oops. Just saw in your bio that you are 31. Makes sense! I didn't change my eating dramatically but it around that age when food started really sticking to me in ways it hadn't before. And also when a "diet" didn't have the same dramatic results. But no worries, you will still get there.

Lol. Last comment I swear but the 1979 in your name should have been a tip off...

Lol... yep! It was so much easier when I was 28 to lose weight! I didn't have more to lose then, I went from 150 to 130 then. Now I weigh more and it's harder! But, that's to be expected I guess. And in a way slower weight loss is probably good/healthier.

Chris do not be discouraged. If you are take a look at my weight history. I have only once lost 2lbs in a week. Honestly sometimes I only lost 1 pound for the whole month. Be patient slow and steady and it will happen.
