Eating well with my children and grandchildren all here for Christmas through New Years had a price. I am ready to begin paying attention to my personal needs and I know I will feel so much healthier if I make lifestyle changes including activity and eating adjustments. What I am doing is not terrible but does not lead to weight loss nor better health. I am thinking about changing my diet from Atkins to a moderate carb diet with frequent meals, vitamins, and protein shakes. I became very interested in the fast weight loss Rush Limbaugh has used. I read about what he did and it simulated what I am going to try to do. I cannot afford to join the weight loss program he utilized. Has anyone found something similar to try? What I found is to eat 6 - 7 meals per day with about 1500 calories and very modest carb intake. The food groups are protein, dairy, vegetables, fruits (emphasizing berries), and nuts. The three main meals must include 3 of the above and the snack must include at least 2 of the above. This is supposed to increase your metabolism. Whey protein shakes are allowed. The dog and I have started walking again even though the temperatures are very cold. I hope everyone else is getting off to a good 2010.
