Ashmy_Ash's Journal, 16 February 2016

Again, although I have been following everything I'm supposed to do, my weight has only increased by 100 grams or so. But you know what? I'm not really sad. Coz I do know that this is the water weight and most probably the muscles I've been building up. Hence, even if the red arrow is being displayed here, I don't really mind.
All is well :)

If you're working out, you'll be adding muscle, all right, and some bone mass as well. Muscle tissue is a lot more dense than fat tissue, and is metabolically more active. It's GOOD weight. The safest way to naturally increase your metabolism is to add muscle mass. When you start your workouts, or increase them to the point of soreness, there may be some swelling that will add some water weight. This is why it's good to have multiple measures of progress besides the scale. Measuring the waist and hips, noting how your clothes fit, or getting one of those inexpensive sub-dermal fat calipers (they're only a few bucks, and while not super-accurate, they give you a number to follow).

@karenbledsoe I agree with everything you said. And today, I will be getting my measurements checked and I can be certain that this weight gain is actually a good one. :)
