jerrymiller's Journal, 21 December 2015

Not as bad as I thought it would be...after the moose Christmas dinner, which in fact was my first "complete" (salad, meat, veg, potato, dessert) dinner in who knows how long..Then add in the next day's moose breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage, half biscuit w/a little gravy) I was expecting way worse as a result.

So now at 10 days past my surgery I can report:
1) No sign of infect I can perceive (swollen, red, fever, etc)
2) Pain isn't to bad, in fact I think it is less painful with out the metal than it ever was before.
3) I itch like hell around the staples, it's taking a herculean effort not to claw at it.

But I'll know more on the 23rd of Dec for my post op visit.

210.4 lb Lost so far: 34.3 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 0.3 lb a week

Did you have a knee replacement? My mom has had both done in the last two years and I know I am facing it. Like you, I'm DETERMINED to get my weight down to a good healthy one, and maintain it, before I do that. Why haul around so much extra; it'll just make surgery more dangerous and recovery slower and rehab more painful, right? I hope you get good results on the 23rd :)
