Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The first 9 days or so of induction went really well and the weight and inches fell off. Then i kinda stalled and even gained a couple pounds back.

I think there are several factors. First of all, my eating is sporadic. Some days i have too many calories, others not enough. And btw, i alwys try to overestimate the quantity i'm eating. Secondly, I have not been exercising in a couple months. Not even walking. First it was too hot. Then i went to full time night shift at the 2nd job - that makes 75 hrs/wk on night shift. I'm just too tired all the time!

I can't even finish reading the book past induction, cuz every time i'm still I fall asleep - very frustrating!

But here's the strange thing. Up until a couple days ago i have had no problem turning down carbs. But these last few days it's all i can do to not eat donuts, fries, onion rings, cheesecake, etc. The strange part is, I've never had a sweet tooth, or particulary cared for bread.

I don't know if it's some sort of break thru, or if I've been in induction too long (I only want to lose about 6 lbs more).

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

PS I've been thinking about it since i wrote this post. I think i really need to watch my calorie intake. But any other suggestions or tips would be helpful. I'm still curious why i am suddenly tempted by carbs. Thanks!

Karen, I have no advice for you on Adkins, but I do know that after a rapid loss while on induction, it is common to gain a bit back. As to why you are suddenly craving carbs, I have no idea. I congratulate you on your success so far, with only 6 pounds left to your goal! I hope some of the Adkins people out there can provide some answers for you.

Karen, first of all congratulations on your weight loss (I read your profile). That is a great accomplishment, and you did it! I don't know why you crave sugar; maybe you need some fruit in your diet. I hate to say "diet", because we have to look at this as a lifestyle. Induction may not be for you. Could starting on OWL be better for you? There you are allowed more good carbs. That would most likely help you and not tempt you with refined sugary stuff that's poison for most of us. Read the Atkins website again. It may help you identify what phase to go on. You are so close to your goal. Could it be that this is actually your normal weight for your body already? The trouble with this kind of craving, so strong, you may give into it someday and not stop. I know you can stay away from the wrong sweets, just listen to your body and determine to eat a few more of the HEALTHY carbs you may need.
