so it has been one month since my doctor's appointment, which was 11 days after my New Year's resolution kicked in. I have managed to average 0.6 lb per day of weight loss. I am working my ass off to do it, but I'm getting steady and consistent results. there are days where I weigh a little bit more, and then the next day, I'm a pound or two lighter, so there is some water weight fluctuation. however, on the whole, I've definitely dropped 17.6 lb over the past month.

I'm trying to keep my calories below 1700 a day while getting over 100 g of protein minimum. I am trying to keep my saturated fat below 20g a day and get at least 30g of fiber a day. I also walk about 2 mi every weekday morning before I go to work, and I ride my bike 10 miles a day 6 days a week. Sundays are my rest days. I do some bike maintenance, but I don't walk or ride my bike for exercise. if the kids want to go for a neighborhood bike ride, which is very low stress, I will do that, but I don't count it as exercise.

I'm burning about a thousand calories a day with exercise 6 days a week. at least according to Map My Ride. I'm not going to lie it's very hard. I constantly feel like I'm missing out because I pretty much eat nothing but greens, beans, salad, and baked white meat chicken breast.

Occasionally, I will eat something that is fattening, but I plan for it and save up my saturated fat and calories during the rest of the day to enjoy it. for example, last Saturday, I had two slices of pepperoni pizza. so practically all I ate the whole day before dinner time since I knew we were getting pizza was a salad and an egg white omelet. this week the kids have been asking for cheeseburgers and I really wanted one too and since I know how much fat and calories will be in it because I make them myself, I budgeted for it and all I had was an egg white omelette for breakfast and I had salad with chickpeas for lunch and I skipped my mixed nuts and my carrots and peanut butter to save saturated fat so that I could have my cheeseburger for dinner that night and come in at only 18g of saturated fat for the day.
290.6 lb Lost so far: 37.2 lb.    Still to go: 70.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
