Did not count calories today but I’m pretty sure I’m am under. Just curious if anyone goes into phases where actually writing them down/ putting in the app just doesn’t happen but you’re keeping a mental track?

I have to track and record everything. I don’t trust myself. Too long a history of overeating and stress eating.

I need to track because I need to see where I’m having problems. I eat way too many healthy carbs. Too many carbs is too many carbs.

For me, it is either I track or I pretend to be on track😅

I track mostly because I snack way too much. If I don’t track my snacks, I end up 400+ calories over without much effort. Considering that my lifestyle is not as active as I would like, I have to keep my calories fairly low to be in a deficit.

I tracked and weighed portions until I hit maintenance. Mental math and good habits after that. Last few months I’ve been free range with tracking only my weight, clothing fit and how I’m feeling. So now I’m tracking my not tracking? lol

I tracked obsessively when I started out on FS to be sure of a deficit in CICO until I hit my goal of 115 lbs a few months ago. The awareness of nutrition & the change in eating habits stuck, and I continued to drop with more relaxed mental tracking, now down to 110 lbs & holding pretty steady the past 2 months, with 1-2 lbs fluctuations, which I'm fine with these days. Most of the ailments that I think were associated with evil COVID weight gain are gone. FS is a great tool. Good luck in your continued efforts!

I track good days and bad days. Sometimes I'm too busy to enter meals right away, so I enter the food before bed or the next morning. I sometimes have to estimate complicated meals (not cooked by me). It is my healthy obsession.

I track religiously. It helps me stay accountable.

I don't track now because I've learned how big the "correct" portion sizes are for my weight. That and I have a kitchen filled with only healthy fresh food, so junky high-calorie food is not around to derail me and all my hard work. Any stress is handled with a long walk (away from the kitchen!).

Yeah I often don’t track. If I’m eating healthy foods I don’t tend to gain. At the moment I’m trying to build muscle so I had to start tracking again to make sure my calorie intake is high enough.
