It was out of your control so don’t be hard on yourself, you’re doing great!

Thanks everyone for your support! Indeed, this is out of my control and I need to remember that!

Kay, is that a thyroid-derived medication like Armour that has both T4 and T3? I am just on levothyroxine.

I've been on Levox for almost 25 years now, and still need to adjust dosage every so often. Hopefully you'll start feeling better soon. It's hard enough just to make a dent in our weight loss journey, but to work as diligently as we do and have our meds work against us is a difficult pill to swallow( pun intended). Just remember that there are others here that understand, and we are with you.

Hi, Diana! Glad to hear from you after your surgery! Wishing you a speedy recovery, and hope you won’t have to go through too many adjustments post-surgery, including the thyroid.

Hi, Teri! Thanks for the words of encouragement. I am heartened that there are people here successfully losing weight despite the challenges posed by thyroid conditions. I had the radioactive iodine treatment at 20 years old and had to deal with thyroid issues ever since. It does get frustrating at times.

Hope you feel better soon. I always try and turn to foods to heal if at all possible. Do you like eggs, Brazil nuts, macadamia nuts, seafood, seaweed? Maybe those can help boost your thyroid function.

Thinking of the similarities in reading your post & comments with the same symptoms/struggles my sister encounters! She has the right attitude, like you🤗💛

StormsGirl, that’s a good point, I should look more into that. Also, maybe there is some new science on the effect of diet on the conversion of the main thyroid hormone—in my case it has to be all supplied via a pill, my thyroid can’t produce it—into the active form of the hormone in the body (T4 to T3).

Foody, I’m trying hard on the attitude front—it gets so frustrating at times. I expected that there would be a thyroid pill adjustment but getting it so off has been a bummer. I’m also realizing that I will have to go to an endocrinologist because maybe the situation is too complicated for my family doc. And I haven’t had good experience with endocrinologists in general (has anyone?). So I’m crabby, as you can see. But I’ll try to do better.
