well LD,
After loosing my parents, work threatening to fire me over my grief, having ballooned to 330#, with a family history of high blood pressure, diabetes, heart attack, etc...And no clue how to cope AND recovering from severe injuries from a motorcycle accident (not to mention some problems from older injuries : see my bio) I had only one choice left to me...
I sot help from a professional, an actual weight loss clinic, talked to the doctor went over my long traumatic history and what was happening now (work, parents, isolation, depression, etc) and we set a program.
I was sent to the labs for blood work to establish a base line, we worked out a low-cal, low-carb, high protein diet, of 50g carb/day and 120+g protein/day.
I called upon my work's health plan and EAP (employee assistance program) to hook up with a counselor who has been helping me work through the grief and the stress of all the trauma that's been my existence for the last 24 years (that is essentially, half my life).
If use the resources! they're out there...
