Thanks, Foody! Last week I ate over 1400 cal per day, on average. Over the course of my weight loss this year, I’ve been gradually raising the calories from about 1100 cal when I started tracking in early June. It took me awhile to figure out I had to raise calories, even slightly, after plateauing. It’s so counterintuitive but one has to calm and reassure the body there will be energy coming in after a sustained stretch of weight loss or the metabolism tanks, hard. Is that what others call refeeding? And exercise does not necessarily gets one out of a plateau by itself—just the opposite, it can add to the depletion of energy and metabolic rate tanking if not accompanied by more calories. That’s at least what I’ve been able to observe. After last week above 1400 cal per day, I’m aiming for a week at 1300 cal and see if I can get this loss streak going a bit longer. If not, up we go again, back to 1400 or even more, depending on what I’ll manage exercise-wise.

Thanks for that, Agnes. That was informative.

Sometimes I think the variability is the goal, to keep our bodies from getting into a rut. Change it up and the body needs to adapt. I've never been able to settle into one steady approach. Shaking it up abit seems to keep things moving.
