NowIunderstand's Journal, 28 March 2015

This is Day 6 of the FMD. I started this diet after seeing an 'infomercial' on PBS promoting it The diet is hard to do. No soy, no wheat, no artificial sweeteners, no alcohol except for Truvia and Stevia. Planning is a must to succeed. But it promises a weight loss of up to 20lbs in 28 days among curing other ailments. The Premise of the diet is that it re-establishes the metabolism through cycling of macronutrients. Two days of high carbs, no fat, low protein, two days of high protein, no carbs, etc etc. The genius of the diet (anyway for me) is that it's in increments. In other words, you take it two days at a time. Also, what I really like is that it tells you exactly when and what to eat. It also had the added benefit of keeping my sugar at a level that made me have no hunger or cravings. (except on one or two occasions, where I just had to have an apple because I didn't feel good).

Mind yuu, I didn't follow the perfectly, but did pretty well.

Do I believe it resets the Metabolism, as it's this diet's spin or does it work because it's basically low cal? Who knows? But it works for me and I can work it, for the above points mentioned! If I don't do it exactly, at least it give me a framework.

Being on this site made me discover that dieting is a lifetime thing for me and it's an eye opener to see so many struggle, lose and gain, and for some reach and maintain. It'll never be over... and will have to be managed consistently, without letting go. sob, sob ... lol !!!!

I'm confident and feeling good about this. I'm not going to let any voices in my head steer me away from it from feelings of self-pity, or discouragement. (they do that to me, those voices!)

Best to all

I think we've got to do what we think is right within reason. Mom2Boxers did something similar. Check hers out. Changing up is good. Keep us updated on your progress.

Glad you have found something that fires you up. Not being negative with this next question, just generally curious about the plan - "What happens after day 28?"

This fracking plan is not doable!!! lol. Much too restrictive. It's a dilemma every meal. And the list changes every two days. I'm keeping the guidelines and to how much and when, but not necessarily what. I'm tweaking it. I think I'll do alright with this.

You have to feel good or you won't stick with it. Tweaking is what makes it work for you. Stay positive. You can do it!
