Hi Agnes, glad you have a supervised team to help kickstart your weight loss goals! (I’m glad they plulled the bad Fenfluramine from the cocktail mix) You sound committed and it sure does help with the support of our in home family and friends and FS community. Nice numbers to get you in a safer, and healthier place…onward to greater health! We got this!!!!

Hi, FoodyDuty! Thanks for writing this. I did see what you wrote about your experience with Fen-Phen, and I’m so glad you escaped that nightmare unscathed, it sounds. That was quite a scandal what happened with that drug! I went on quite a research dive when my weight loss doctor prescribed phentermine. I totally understand your desire to lose weight without any meds, and I hope to get there, too, soon. I recently prevailed with the doctor to switch to the lowest possible dose (less than half of what I started with), so I’m dealing now with more appetite, but so far so good. It helps that I can raise my calories and activity somewhat now, with the main goal being maintaining—maybe with some slow loss, hopefully. New healthy habits will hold, I hope, when I’ll get off the drug entirely. Will I regain some weight then? Probably, will see. I wish more people who had experiences with the drug shared them on FS, but I understand the reluctance to do so.
