Significant weight loss is never a straight line. Ups and downs are to be expected. Just make sure that you are learning which foods have excessive calories, and work on replacing them with healthier foods, or eliminate them altogether.

Yes, thank you. Great advice, and I do not think of the consequences before I eat. I decided to eat a bunch of cashews late last night. I did not add them in my journal. I don’t know why I did it. I mindlessly started eating them.

Nuts are dangerous foods for me too. I always over indulge. Cashews are one of the highest fat content nuts. I have learned to only buy nuts still in the shell. Shelling them slows down the eating and keeps my hands active. Popcorn has become my go to snack. Popped in olive oil, no butter and popcorn salt.

Thanks for the advice. I’ll be buying them in the shells. I love popcorn.

I was able to quit my compulsion with cashews when I learned that they are not tree nut, but their closest plant relative is poison ivy. I don't even know whether it's actually true, but it was enough of an association to give me pause. I was able to quit them.

The cashew tree, Anacardium occidentale, belongs to the same family of plants (Anacardiaceae) as the Rhus species, which cause poison ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac (1). This tree bears a pear-shaped fruit called the cashew apple. Dermatitis Associated with Cashew Nut Consumption - CDC

Mangos are a cousin to of poison ivy werid huh. And pecans are closer to peaches 🍑 then true nuts strawberries aren't the berry but rather the swollen sexual tissue of the plant and the fruit at all. The world of plants can be a lot of fun 😊.

Leah, I had no idea mangoes were in the poison ivy family. Thank you for all the info.
