Have been in the ditch for longer than I can remember, had a fall on June 14th, resulting in a round with Meniere's symptoms....vertigo and the like....hindering my function, driving ability and stability. I seriously need an intervention with someone in my age group....70 and up....

I am so VERY thankful....to be retired, hanging out at home by myself with Jesus...and for the gift of every day I get.

Mid fifties here. Meniere's is a bugger demon. I've had it since I was early teens. As I've always said, nothing like having "the morning after" feelings without having the fun of the night before. For me, stress & lack of sleep trigger it immensely. Some foods as well, but usually the former 2. Now I also get vasovagal syncope, or in layman's terms, I faint... for no reason. I know there are a few 65+ here, though I can't for the life of me remember their names. Will do my best to check in on you. HUGS

Hey Brenda Sarah here. 73 in a few days. I don’t know the physical problems you describe, but I sure like learning about the things I don’t have wrong with me. It helps me to be grateful 🥹. It also helps me identify with the struggles that want to derail our food plans (woe) so welcome to our neighborhood, fasten your seatbelt, and remember “all work and no play makes jack a dull boy”.

Hi Brenda, at the ripe old age of 80, I definitely qualify. At 79 & 11 months, I was doing fine, just chugging along. I turned 80 the beginning of May and have been in the hospital twice since then, once in ICU. But, I am working on getting my strength back and moving forward. Find the joy in the little things that are all around us. Be kind to others and sprinkle smiles around liberally. Tell your loved ones how much they mean to you. Every day that I still know my name is a good day! Hope your health improves rapidly!

Okay, I googled menieier. I have a funny story to tell. Years ago I had a bout of vertigo. I went to my doctor to get treatment, thinking maybe I had an ear infection or something similar. Me: “l think I’m suffering from INDIGO” Doctor: “You’re SUFFERING from WHAT?” After a pause of total embarrassment, I say to him, “Oh you know what I mean” The two of us were rothfloao 🤣😂. We agreed to never speak of this again. and luckily my symptoms disappeared after a few days.

Hi Brenda, I'm turning 69 this summer. I've suffered from vertigo since a fall and a 'minor' brain injury five years ago. For me it varies and is intermittent. It ranges from a little wooziness to severe sense of spinning and nausea. I found a chiropractor who does wonders with it - he's a neuro specialist chiropractor. There's a certain maneuver that I've had done three times, once at an ENI. Best of luck with it.. I agree that being retired helps - who needs trying to work when we've got this kind of stuff to deal with!

That was supposed to be ENT - Ear Nose and Throat - specialist.

Thank you Ladies! ...and for the laugh Sarah! I've had Meniere's since I was 21....was actually dx'd by an ENT in Dallas in 1990...after suffering years with no medical care, married to an alcoholic maniac who told me .."You're sick alright, sick in the f'in head...just like your Mama"...it took 12 years to get away from him. I worked many years, dealing with it, retired the end of 2021...hooya. I did tell him he caused mine...by beating me in the head with his fists....yep, he was a real peach. I have an awesome ENT here Erika....haven't had to see him in many years but know who to see if I do. Hoping this passes quickly.

I dont know if this will help you. Im 59 about to be 60 soon and last year started experiencing a lot of lightheadedness post surgery. Thought it was from the narcotics as i rarely have used them in my entire life but when i got off them the dizziness stayed. It’s slowly becoming less but one thing my doc told me to do was to sit up (like if im laying on couch or in bed) to sit up and wait for about 30-60 seconds and then stand up so the blood can move around and that actually does help. Best wishes to you.

Sure hope you get to feeling better. Being dizzy is no fun. Having to be so careful how you move.

Thank you Frankie...and Yearofhealth...it does, and I do find it helpful to wait for stability before take off. I use my medical alert and cane, daily...Prior to this injury, it had been years since I had symptoms....and I feel for all who deal with this...and worse things.

Hi Brenda, so sorry you’ve had to deal with Meniere’s. I have vertigo at times…horrible! Been over a year now since it has given me problems.
