HeatherKM's Journal, 18 July 2011

Didn't really gain or lose since my last weigh-in. I know one issue is exercise - I've not been to the gym in weeks, and I've not gotten much exercise around the home either.

I really need to start getting to bed earlier so I can get up and to the gym in the morning, otherwise it just doesn't happen. I'll also try walking at work today if the rain stops.

I ended up dropping the challenges I'd signed up for - just not in the right place headwise to try and meet those goals.

I think I'm still eating healthier overall, and I think that shows since I haven't gained back what I've lost (usually would have by now). But boy do I want to have lost more! I was hoping to lose 10 pounds a month, here I am, 2 months in today, and still haven't made that first 10 pounds, let alone the second!

Of course, I know this is my fault - I am in control of what I eat, I am in control of getting exercise.
232.0 lb Lost so far: 7.0 lb.    Still to go: 92.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.
losing 1.2 lb a week

Heather, my advice. not as a person who has had some incredible success because I haven't.. But as someone with moderate success. Delete those milestones from your mind and profile. You've missed them and now it's doing nothing but depressing you. Identify what's in your life that's making you cheat food wise. I know for me it's food that we have in the house for my kids, making them food, the habit of eating their leftovers. There's probably several things and you'll want to address them 1 at a time. This has been an ongoing issue for me. As for the gym.. the calorie deficit alone should show you progress but it's not because there is no deficit. Don't feel bad, the last 2 weeks or more have been the same for me. But regardless of skipping the gym there should be some movement. Once you see some movement you get excited and making it to the gym becomes a lot easier when you're excited about your progress.

Thanks for the comments. I actually have the same issues, the food in the house for the kids, cooking for kids and husband, eating leftovers. I did change my profile, removed the goals and instead put the list of the reasons I want to lost this weight. So I'll try focusing on that instead of the scale.
