our culture does not support health and wellness.

people appear to claim to support wellness by advising "take care of yourself. perhaps get yourself some ice cream". centering self care around food.

or they make jokes about diet and exercise with clever memes and comics like "my exercise is walking to the kitchen for pizza".

and then we use shameful language like "fitness nut" or "health nut".

this is why it's very difficult for one to succeed.

The one that drives me nuts is the concept that the only tasty foods are the unhealthy foods and that you'd only eat veggies as punishment for being fat. I don't suffer through salads as penance -- I genuinely enjoy them.
