i adjusted my new bmr at 1800 calories because of the 18 lb weight loss. so have adjusted my daily caloric intake down from 1200 to 1000 when not working and from 1800 to 1600 when working although today i only ate 1/3 lb 93percent lean hamburger with only onions, tomatoes, one slice of bread and tsp of mustard total calories400 plus half of pomegrante 50 cal, 1 fuyu persimmon 100 calories, 1cup of pinto beans no fat200 calories, 1 corn tortilla no fat 50 calories and total calories for today was 800calories andplanto burn 1800 bmr + 1000 at work total calories burned 2800minus 800 conusmed = 2000 caloric deficit today that is more than 1/2 lb of fat burned today.

the hamburger was grilled on an indoor grill pan where the grease drains away. most of my protein is only lean and grilled with no oil and no mayo either on sandwiches.

i have totally eliminated dairy products, started drinking white tea and green tea per dr. oz for weight loss, stopped taking my fish oil supplements as i read that they prevent weight loss, and have reduced my caloric intake to 1000 although i only consumed 800 today it is really hard to do though after walking 4 hours continously on my job with nothing to eat.

I think you need to adjust it up. Your intake less your exercise (not activity) should never drop below 1500 for a male... you need that many just for normal body maintenance stuff. You may lose fat a little slower but you won't be losing muscle or slowing down your metabolism. In the long run, your body will thank you. See the attached link http://scoobysworkshop.com/2010/11/17/eating-less-is-not-necessarily-better-when-losing-weight/

that makes sense but i want to lose weight fast to get to 165 quickly; according to your formula i should have at least 1500 calories net after subtracting for exercise i've been steadily averaging around 200 to 500 calories for the past month; after subtracting for the exercise the results are quick18 lbs lost in 1 month my metabolism has slowed down significantly so has my bmr so i need to cut the calories drastcally also or it will be very slow process to lose weight.

Slow and steady wins the race... damaged metabolism guarantees a rebound of fat gain once you return to a normal amount of calorie intake. You will gain as fast as you lost...and so the yo-yo cycle begins. 2 lb per week is plenty fast and won't leave your metabolism damaged. Be careful my friend. Check out ScoobysWorkshop nutrtion and fat loss articles for better understanding of the mechanics. Good luck!

Someone at work mentioed that while I have lost a large amount of weight, I don't look sickly and gaunt like most folks that lose weight through starving themselves or bariatric surgery. I believe that is because I have lost only FAT and NO muscle. I once did a 40 day food fast. Lost 40 lbs in 40 days and got to 180 lbs. Looked thin, but face was gaunt, and gained it all back in a matter of weeks. We did not gain it overnight, so we should not expect to lose it overnight.

i agree that you need to stay consistent to not lose focus and drastically cutting your calories to 200 per day is not sustainable. i'm just doing for a short term quick weight loss and want to keep the weight off no yo yo dieting as i plan to keep it off. most people that do the yo yo cannot stay on a reduced caloried diet at their new weight and don't realize that they have to stay at a permanent new calorie restriction at a lower weight so revert back to their old eating habits this is not my goal though.

i walk 5 miles per night working at a very large hospital campus, climb up and down 2 flights of stairs everyday to get to the pharmacy, walk 1/2 mile from the parking garage to the hospital campus roundtrip, avg of about 4 hours of continous walking at moderate pace; but have the resistance of a cart loaded with about 100 lbs of pharmaceutical medications that are delivered to various places; on 8-10 rounds per night so i might not have calculated the calories that i'm burning because i'm losing weight at twice the rate that i had originally calculated.

the hospital campus is about the size of disneyland about a mile long and 1/2 mile wide the acutal hospital is about 1/4 mile long and has 9 floors sometimes my cart if loaded and weighs 100 lbs sometimes it is only half loaded and 50 lbs just depends i calculated this activity as 1000 calories but i'm losing weight twice as fast as i originally calculted so maybe im buring 2000 calories per night?
