Great! We have another nurse on board. Welcome. I have done flight nursing and if you are a true adrenaline junkie you will love it.

Kenna, I did a ride along in nursing school and it was amazing! I really fell in love with the idea when I was 10 or 11. My dad is an ER nurse and his hospital built a helipad. Life Flight landed and we got to go see the aircraft. It was love at first sight! I got married and had kids, then went to college. I'm four years into nursing (starting year 5!!) and have done surgical trauma ICU at a level 1 trauma center and ER at the smallest of 3 hospitals in our area. Thanks for the support!

I flew with Life Flight and did critical care transport. I flew ventilated patients across the country and did helicopter transports of injured loggers out of logging camps. Lots of fun. Gets your heart going sometimes. I had fun.

You really need to be confident in your skills to be able to take this on, and learn to control your own anxiety.

You need critical care, but also big time ER. The more modalities that you are competent in the more comfortable you will be working alone and making critical decisions.
