bri293's Journal, 12 November 2014

I feel a little “off” today. I’m stressing myself out over work, and don’t know how to get myself out of that rut this week. Tonight I’m going out with a friend that I rarely see for dinner so I know that I’ll have some extra calories, but considering I don’t have much of an appetite so far today I think my calories will work out fine by the end of the day. I feel like I need to take my mind off work anyway, to stop myself from stressing. If I get home early enough from dinner I’ll try to get a little light workout in, maybe the exercise bike while watching tv. Or maybe clean/organize something. That’s been helping me de-stress lately and my house sure could use some TLC.

Interesting Socolova...when my wife and I have disagreements and I'm angry the first thing I do is household chores. Bri293, hope your stress gets worked out and resolved.

Hey there, stress is a bummer, but work related stress can be handled. I mean stop and think for a minute about the job you are doing. If you honestly feel you are doing your best well it will work it self out. I was in a position for over thirty years in a fast pace production sales environment. Well I stressed a lot "had to number one", won a lot of awards for being number one in our region. Long story short; company went belly up! Years of being number one, doing our best still in the end didn't matter. I along with 327 others over three years were let go. I because of the length of service was one of the last. Stressing over work is a waste of time! Do your best let the chips fall where they may. You already sound like you have a good game plan for tonight. :-)

Haha! Yeah I clean when I'm angry too. Scrubbing things gets out frustration and helps me feel like I have control of something which helps with the stress too. And Dragonfly, that's a great way of putting it that stressing is a waste of time! Certainly doesn't solve anything. Sometimes I stress myself out over small things. I know they'll work themselves out and just have to try to find ways to stop thinking about it, which is why I'm glad I have plans tonight.
