losingtowin1's Journal, 11 November 2022

A bit of a tough adjustment with cooler weather to eat salad, avoid carbs and especially sugar. Down another pound. Macros have been all over the map. Would like to keep aiming for increased protein, reduced carbs and a reasonable amount of daily fat. Getting plenty of water without including coffee and keeping natural fiber up for the most part. Still unsure how many calories I can have at this point to keep losing weight. Watching out for late night snacking. Asking myself if I am really hungry or if it's something else. If I identify what it is, I can deal with it and choose not to eat mindlessly. Not being too rigid with my FS food journal every single day. If eating something additional ruins my deficit for the day, whatever! Just trying to listen to cues from my body about what it needs. Am finding when I do this, I learn more about myself. I can make healthier choices. For instance allowing myself a few chopped Deglet Noor Dates in my steel cut oats at breakfast may not only be satisfying a sweets craving but may be helping me resist late night snacking on the homemade devil's food chocolate cake with coconut angel flake topping that I've made for others in the house. It's not that I don't allow myself any at all, I don't deprive myself. What I'm seeing is that dates although high in carbs and sugar have some fiber and nutrients not found in that chocolate cake. I'm getting a bit more selective about satisfying a sweet tooth. Outdoor exercise continues to be a priority. With the sudden drop in temperatures, I'm bundling up and getting out there. Went earlier yesterday while the temperature was in the sixties and finished despite getting wet from a few minutes downpour. The temperature plummeted within a few hours so I'm glad I went when I did. Much stronger now, not breathless, completion sooner, greater flexibility, energy level - healthier overall. Still in the process of losing weight and figuring out how much is enough for me based on how I feel and look. No complaints. Not a bad problem to have ;) Hope everyone has a great weekend!
