NowIunderstand's Journal, 27 September 2014

Well this loss is a surprise! I haven't counted calories all week, and barely exercised. I have cut the wheat and calorie dense foods. I've started taking tofu for protein, remain eating eggs every day.

I was really surprised on my attitude towards food this week. I was at the opening of a fruit store and on the counter was a plate of baklava. (yummmm! - I love the stuff). the cashier asked me if I liked them and offered me one, they were free! Normally (or should I say Anciently) I'd have one, try for two and would secretly want 10, but although mildly tempted, I said 'No Thank You'. She said 'but there free'. I said they might be free but they will cost me in WW meetings I'll have to attend to get it off.

What my real thought is 'they are free, but they'll cost me in blood, sweat and tears to take off the weight.'

I've learnt in recent years that free is not necessarily a good thing, in anything.

With the knowledge I have now, I so wish I was starting over my life.

As Dr Phil says - with every action, there's a reaction. (yes, I listen to the show, I can say a lot of negative and a lot of positive about his show. Although his show is a lot of 'TV' I think that when it comes to children, he's genuine in his concerns)

Have a great weekend, if anyone is reading!!!

Excellent job! I would have a tough time resisting baklava, too.

Nice weight loss! :) Refusing the free Baklava was a great accomplishment!

Thanks Deb, gingin and Snez - The accomplishment was not just refusing the baklava. The accomplishment for me was the state of mind achieved after so many years that let me refuse the baklava. A state of mind which will get me to my goals. You're very lucky Snez, to have achieved a lifestyle as young as you have. You won't have to go through what a lot of us have been through. You've saved yourself some agony..lol- I'm happy for you.

Congrats on passing free pastries. Good for you. And yes, nothing is ever really free. There's always a cost somewhere.
