frustrating15's Journal, 19 July 2007

I stared the south beach diet on Monday July 16. I began to limit my carbs on Sunday July 15 though (no bread, chips, etc.)

I am 27 years old and I have been putting on weight since my senior year in college 6 years ago. I am not sure what a good goal weight should be for me. I am thinking 135 is a safe attainable number.

My mom and I are doing the diet together and my husband motivates me to work out. I try to work out by doing at least 30 minutes of intense cardio 3 times a week with weight training 2 times a week.
141.5 lb Lost so far: 5.5 lb.    Still to go: 6.5 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

Losing 6 to 7 pounds should be quite easy. Besides SBD you might consider writing down your calorie intake as it will "keep you honest." Fitday.com has a good free system for doing this that remembers a number of the foods that you like making it very fast for doing this type of thing. Good Luck!

Another way to find a good goal weight is by using the Body Mass Index. I found this calculator at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute web site, here's the link http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/ It even tells you what healthy ranges are. Good luck!
