Was cruising back thru my food journal and found that I have been slowly but surely eating more carbs in the way of pasta, bread & potatos. Well, that is not good for steady weight loss!! I don't care what anybody says, it is not just about calories in vs calories out. It also has to do with how your body metabolizes certain foods that affects weight loss and/or gain.
Decided to cut out all that white flour/starchy stuff and get my complex carbs from fresh fruits & veggies. I started it on Sunday (except dinner which I had already planned) and as you can see from my food journals, the calories are way lower than I was eating, but I am totally full at all times and eating 3 good meals plus a snack daily.
Another interesting tid-bit, I don't know about anybody else, but I am constantly editing my preferences to see where I fall on the macro & micro nutrients. With this plan, I pretty much have the cholesterol and sodium under control to where they need to be so decided to check my sugar every day. On my plan for today, there is no food on there that has any "added" sugar to it, only the natural sugars in fruits and veggies.
This may sound too strict but these are really the foods I enjoy eating most, especially with summer coming and getting off the heavier winter foods. Will see how it goes. Shooting for under 250 by the end of the month. Can't remember when I last saw that number!!
Got a call from the bicycle shop and the electric bikes are ready for pick-up...now if the weather would improve and the rain would stop, we can get out and ride.
