slynn_lynn's Journal, 05 August 2014

Well, back in the saddle. Spent the last two months helping my girls move into their new apartment, buying miscellaneous household goods that they needed. All the travel up and back 3-4 times takes it's toll and I have the extra poundage to proof it. Yuck!!

It's just too easy to NOT exercise, to NOT drink enough water, to indulge in that extra glass (or 3) of wine and it's showing in the fact that I've fallen back on old habits. So, once again, like so many of us, I have to bite the bullet and JUSR DO IT!!

I was happy and enjoying a new relationship of about 4 months, yet just when I was sure that I'd found the "one" he ended it, so I'm all about the emotional eating now too. Not good. Plus, I just turned 60 last month--I know, I know, it's pretty cliche, but I'm seriously thinking that that, combined with the ex issues and just letting it all go while helping the girls, has seriously derailed my weight loss plans.

The funny thing is, I weighed myself almost every day and I SAW the numbers start to go back up and just---let it happen. I don't know what the magic number was, but after working so hard to lose the original 23 pounds from the first challenge in January, it didn't seem like much when it crept back up. But when I hit 236, for some reason, that was it. That's 8 pounds that I now have to work on again and it just makes me so mad that I let them come back.

I've been having serious issues with my teeth since February; a bridge broke off and my dentist did a new procedure (for her), which required 6 weeks of healing before anymore work could be done. Then, when she started working on one of the anchor teeth, she found she had to do a root canal. Then, at a later appt, a piece broke off in the root she was cleaning. I had to go to an Endodontic Specialist to have it removed and the root canal finished. Then, back to my dentist for the rest of the bridge prep.

Needless to say, I've had to be extra careful in what I eat as I can only use the left side of my mouth. You'd think this was a good reason to eat better, but no, I found myself using more sauces, dressings and "added" extras, which just weren't necessary. Hence, the extra weight. OIG!

I am back into journaling and watching my calories and drinking lots of water and yes, exercise. Time to get back to it!
