Grr! Daily weigh ins are probably dangerous. I worked out hard yesterday and still went back up the pound. We had beef with a glass of wine and that's fairly caloric. Okay alcohol, no more.

That's why I stopped weighing myself daily. But here's a couple of things I learned while I was doing it. Limit your salt intake after lunchtime. Salt retains water which is extra weight. What kind of workout did you do? Added muscle also = added weight so keep that in mind. I'd lean toward the beef (depending how it was cooked) being the source of the weight gain, not the wine. But that's just my opinion.

It was probably the workout that made you gain if you worked out extra hard. Extra hard workouts can cause muscle edema which has your muscles hold on to water to help them heal. I can go on a long bike ride and be up 4 pounds the next day. It's temporary. Lean beef wouldn't make you gain unless it had a lot of salt or you ate a huge amount. Wine can cause dehyration. If you were within your caloric allotment, it was most likely the workout. Google "why the scale lies" for some insight in to water weight gains which can make the scale fluctuate daily.

It was a body pump class. It was very difficult. I will definitely google why the scale lies! Thanks for the tip!
