So, two days of eating out in cold, rainy weather and I have undone all my progress. Breads and pastries are the particular culprits, closely followed by wine. No more pies, no eating between meals, more water and green tea should help. Travelling permanently can be a problem as there is no routine - but I have an idea ...

Hi, I have experienced similar problems to you and traveling presents its own set of issues. It seems you need more snacks like strawberries, Kiwi Fruits, small oranges, small plums, small apples, bananas etc between meals. These will help curb the urge of breads and pastries as your body will have reduced cravings. Also these fruits above are great for traveling. Also try and get more protein into every meal you buy, at least 20g you will notice the difference and feel fuller for longer. I hope this helps.

Thanks for your help eightpac. It is not to do with cravings, it is "we need to stop for lunch, here is a bakery because a pie is really quick". I prefer my main meal at lunch because that's when I am hungry but the driver doesn't - and he wins. He is also reed thin, regardless of how much starch and beer he consumes daily. I often eat fruit and home made yoghourt for breakfast and do eat fruit as snacks if I must, but I prefer protein. I suppose being organized and prepared is the key, difficult with a tiny fridge in a van. Everything takes precious space, but I will go for hard-boiled eggs this week.
