Jada Petsch's Journal, 31 March 2011

Woot!! :D Did it!! 259.5!! *Happy Dance* All the walking I've been doing is paying off. ^.^ So I'll be heading into April in the 250's. Next goal: 257.5 lbs. Which will be 50lbs lost. Then 253 which will put me 1/2 to my goal. Woke up at 5:50 this morning without the alarm clock going off. Walked 2 miles at the park in 36 mins. Tomorrow I'm going to try and get out there a little bit earlier and go for 3 or 4 miles. ^.^ Since the rest of the day will be taken up Pedi appt for my little girl. 2yr check up, and I think she gets shots too. Besides the shots, I'm looking forward to a spectacular April and sending loads of warm thoughts and wishes to my Northern friends.

Been reading alot about salads this morning in other Journals. Looking back when I started this journey, eating salad was a chore, and unwanted, annoying, but necessary part of what I needed to do. Now I'm okay with it. A little lettuce, lots of tomatoes, cucumber, baby carrots and broccoli and I'm alright with it. Never thought I would enjoy Jogging either! lol. XD Now I can't get enough of it. Walking and holding back from jogging for the next 3ish weeks is going to be a trial. Just need my calf to heal then I'm good to go.

Just give yourself time, and listen to what your body tells you. It took months for me to star enjoying salad and jogging.
259.5 lb Lost so far: 48.0 lb.    Still to go: 59.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Yay for a new decade!!! And for jogging! I know how you feel...I was so sad when I sprained my knee a few weeks after I started really getting into it. Worth the wait to prevent reinjury to your calf tho. Nice work lady!

Congrats. I get bored of green salads too sometimes, so I've been playing with cole slaws, and grain-based salads with quinoa. I like how I can make a big batch and actually eat them for a few days, unlike the green salads which I have to make fresh every time.

Thanks Kat! :D Holding back from jogging is hard. I just have the urge to go faster, feel the wind, push harder. Just a few more weeks and I should be good to go. Thanks Zmama! I don't eat alot of sauces or eggy things. Coleslaw is out because of the mayonnaise that goes in it. And I'm not sure what Quinoa is. O.o I'll have to look into that. Thanks for the encouragement Ladies. :)

This is the coleslaw I ate last night - no mayo, super healthy and delicious. You can skip the fish sauce and go with extra vinegar and lime. http:// www.nigella.com/ recipes/ view/ vietnamese-chicken-and-mint-salad-197

Oh and quinoa is a seed I think - I get it at my health food store, super high in protein. I use it like rice in things. I like the FS recipe for Mexican Black Bean Quinoa Salad.

Might try the quinoa if I can find it around here, health food stores are few and a far between in my parts. Thanks Christiana. :P I was Reeeeeeally hoping it would happen this morning and it did!! Can't wait til I can pick up the pace with some jogging. And your doing Awesome too Sister!! Woot! Below 140 is FANTASTIC!!

I was thinking that they /might/ have it like they seem to carry everything else. XD Just finished looking online and it didn't pull up anything but books on it, but I'll look for it the next time I'm out there. How much was it? And was it in the rice section, beans? XD

Babs, I'm soo not looking forward to Florida's summer. XD High humidity and in the 90's outside. lol I've been mentioning to my family that I would like a 3 month gym membership for my birthday. ;) And since my b-day is June 11th, it'll cover me through the worst of the hot and buggy weather. lol. That and I'm starting to miss the classes I was taking. Though I'm kinda looking forward to going to the beach this year. ^.^ @Pixi: the new decade feels good!! :D Woot!
