Good morning!

I'm sorry I wasn't here yesterday. Life kinda just got in the way. It's not a bad thing, I was just out being active.

My weigh-in today is the same as two days ago - but yesterday was actually two full kilos lower! Weird. Still, body fat seems to be declining, even if weight overall stays at the same high.

What is added is muscle and fluid weight, which is a good thing. Body fat is down to 13% today, at 12.1 kilos of fat. That's better than it has been the last month.

I do feel heavy though, and I don't like it. I'm continuously working on getting a few kilos of fat off me. Five kilos would be great, as long as it's FAT loss.

I've been following the IIFYM approach to weight loss/maintenance, and I really like it. I think I have to clean it up a bit though.

Generally, the idea is to reach the minimum intake for protein and fat, and not go over the carb allowance. MANY interpret this as "once you have hit protein and fat, do what you want". Well, when I do this I tend to go WAY over in fat. This is probably my downfall.

I also see that I tend to get physically tired and sleepy. Since I am pretty efficient at cutting out carbs, I think this can very well be related.

I'm not afraid of carbs at all. They just seems to not really go with my food choices, unless I get into the sugar stuff, which I try to avoid.

So, I am trying to optimize my food choices from today, so see if there is a change.

Today is a challenge though.

I am meeting a couple of good friends for dinner at the Chinese restaurant tonight. I have it planned out though.

I know that it helps me A LOT to plan my dinner ahead of time, so I know what I want to do when I get there. It makes it so much easier to stick to my plan.

I have a HUGE meal planned, so there is no way I'm going home hungry. I will have almost 2 lbs of food to consume, to reach my macros.

Again, the carbs will be low. I feel a little bad adding carbs just to add carbs. They aren't used for anything other than energy, but of course - I am LACKING energy.

I am trying with adding a couple of apples in the afternoon, but I'm still short about 150g of carbs according to my general calorie burn. That's a LOT, and I'm convinced that I won't reach it.

Then again, it's better to skip on carbs than on fat or protein.

I feel that I get a LOT of food. I have no problem with me being hungry, ever.

The one thing I see affecting me is tiredness.

Eating right just makes it hard for me to add those carbs. Again, not because I'm afraid of them, but just because I don't know what I wanna add.

I already planned several apples. I already planned snacks. But there is still a long way to go to get UP there. What a luxury problem, huh?

I'll do the best I can, and then leave it at that. At least I will have a larger calorie deficit, and it'll all be carbs missing. That's the way to go.

I do see muscles growing on me. I feel that I can actually see that I'm bulking up, and not just from fat. I like the look. My chest is bigger, as are my arms. I wonder just how much is fat and water? Are the muscles really growing underneath? I like to think so.

So, today I will meet with my good friend and workout buddy around 10. We're gonna go work out, then probably a good chunk of walking. Maybe watch a movie, and enjoy some protein fluff. :)

Then dinner tonight.

It's gonna be a nice day.

It's all planned and good to go.

I'm gonna keep tweaking and adjusting on my intake today to see if I can find a way to up those carbs and get some more energy. Maybe simply a little more fruit?

I'll work it out.

It's fun to get a new focus and grip on this. I know that I can slack and and just do as I have been doing when I want to, but I really like the idea of getting more precise on the numbers. I want to see if it makes a difference, and if it does - how much extra effort vs. boosted results will it show? Time will hopefully tell.

Today, I'm thankful for:
- Focus!
- Fat loss!
- A reasonable night's sleep.
- Morning coffee!
- Wife! I love her so!

As always, I will probably be even more quiet during the weekend. I'll be doing good though.

Life is good!

Good morning KK... Just trying to catch up with your journals and see how you are doing with food, exercise, heart and work. It seems the last two have been sorted. With the heart thing... Bummer about life time medication, but it is what it is. Good luck with any future projects you can now pursue - hope the union gets you a decent settlement, so you can move forward. As ever, the food and exercise info, is top of your list :-). Chinese... Yum, my favourite - it 'should' be healthy - after all, have you ever seen a fat china man LOL.
