PrairieRains's Journal, 29 March 2021

Well that storm we were hoping was going to pass us by didn't. We have roads closed from Alberta to Regina white out conditions. So many without power, makes me so thankful for the large generator that runs our entire yard,

Woke up to 50mph winds that has steadily increased to 75. Blowing snow and just miserable out here on the Prairies. They say it is going to get better by 2 am.

Today was spent putting more bedding out, checking cattle. I am so grateful no new calves so far today.

Been giving it alot of thought to what I am going to fix for Easter dinner. I am kind of struggling with "cheating" my way of eating.
I keep telling myself.

I am worth more than a cheat day.

Scouring the internet for a s/f keto lemon molten cake.
I know we will have smoked baby back ribs, cauliflower mock potato salad and asparagus. Hubby is,asking for deviled eggs.

Anyway this was my day, to much time to think about things while bucking straw bales😊

Oh Rains, how very very SCARY!!!!😧 Keep us posted how you make it through it. Won’t your pastures be flooded? Do you have a barn? My house looks exactly like a big barn, people walk by and then stop and look at it, (don’t really care for that). Now it looks like an old barn for it needs a paint job.😄 We have always gone camping for Easter, this will be the first one we are staying home. Ribs sounds wonderful along with your deviled eggs. 😋 I think you can just plain forget your diet on Easter and just enjoy!🌺. I wish you well through the storm, yikes!😳

Hi Shrewd... it did calm down today, praise the Lord. Yes we have a large barn gable end. It is over 100 years old built to last. We actually got married in it lol. We also have a very protected yard from all directions but one, SE S, then it realky gets miserable. Pastures will be fine, we actually could use a couple of gentle soaking rains this spring. It was dry last summer. Easter we usually have the entire family out here. This year nope going to be a quiet day. Check out my latest Journal entry on my decision for Easter.
