My body is weird, but I love it anyway, ha ha! I was apparently retaining water & needing some serious bathroom time (TMI!).

Or it could have something to do with the fact that I did a one hour Zumba class for four days in a row, and kept to busy to eat, and made healthy choices when I did. Regardless, I'm pleased to be back below 130. Isabel, it will be better for my knees if I keep the weight off, my friend.

Yesterday was a busy day; Zumba Gold, then an early lunch & playing rummy with my Ya Yas (3 Zumba pals), then into town to pick up prescriptions, to my apartment, then to my primary care doctor's appointment.

I had forgotten to take my afternoon nerve pain medicine. My doctor ran very late, and by then my pain levels had hit a real high. I'm afraid I was a bit dramatic, and not good at clearly communicating. I did have a list of things to cover, so I got my flu shot, written prescriptions I needed, new physical therapy orders, blood work, etc. Whew!

I'm thinking I need to email my doctor today and apologize for my drama. I wasn't happy that she hadn't received (or read, not sure which) progress notes from my physical therapist regarding the condition of my knee that led me to make and appointment with an orthopedic surgeon. I'm afraid Dr. S. thinks I'm jumping the gun, as her exam didn't show what I told her was going on with the knee.

I'll ask my physical therapist to send her a clear note about it when I see her today at 2:30.

I was going to go to Silver Sneakers today, but decided to rest my poor body today. I had some very ripe bananas to use, so I tried out a recipe from my Smart Cookies cookbook. I changed the name of them to Banana Healthy Trail Cookies. They are really healthy, not to sweet, with cashews, sunflower seeds, raisins, molasses, honey, cinnamon, ginger, flaxseed meal, wheat germ, soy flour, whole wheat pastry flour, etc. 1.7 grams of protein, 1 g. fiber in one 68 calorie cookie.

My partner is settling in to working from home a bit better, and has had little appetite, so it has been easier for me to eat less, and better. My ham, sweet potato, and kale soup turned out wonderful. My sour cream whole wheat rolls fell (not too far), but still tasted good, kind of like biscuits.

I haven't had my shower yet today, so I'd better get with it. Hopefully I'll get back to you all soon. I have so much to catch up on!

Later this evening; something happened to my self-control when I came home from physical therapy. My partner was in a mood, filling out paperwork for appointment with a neurosurgeon in the morning. Lumbar MRI was bad, so we are both looking at surgeries of different sorts. I made tuna melts & Mexican squash for dinner, munching on the healthy cookies I baked today. Ate some of a pumpkin chocolate cookie my partner brought home yesterday.

After dinner, my partner decided ice cream was in order, went to the store for a pint of vanilla Swiss almond & brought me some Dreyer's Slow Churned Peppermint Wonderland ice cream. I had a huge bowl of it with Hershey's chocolate syrup.

I'm going along to the neurosurgeon appointment in the morning, so I can't burn off my excesses in Zumba. We're picking up a pie at a restaurant where we will eat. Sigh.

I feel so for Bella, I understand the way the world changes the day someone so close to you passes away...maybe the week, or month...ah, Bella.
