Egull1's Journal, 10 January 2021

Well, so far this week the lows are falling on the typical Saturday and Sunday weigh-in. But, I'm not stopping, yet. I'm kinda having fun with this, which is cool because I'll be honest, I initially adopted weekend weigh-ins 3 years ago, because the daily fluctuations screwed with my head in the beginning.

It's awesome to witness how the "mind-set" has completely shifted and I now see it as simply data that provides some good info on other things happening in this body.

Speaking of "other things" impacting this body.

We're about to potentially skew this week's data. I've had one of those chronic sinus headaches due to seasonal allergies for about 2 days now. So, it's time to throw the medicinal arsenal at it before it gets worse.

It's all prescribed medication (i.e. claratin, flonase, and ibu-profin). And, I'm not going lie, it's such a pleasant feeling when this little trinity of pharmaceutical kicks in, lifts the pressure off my head, and finally allows a decent rush of Oxygen into this girl's itty bitty nasal passages.

However, all three tend to increase water retention and my resting heart rate as well. I'm usually up on the scale on a Monday, but may be more so than usual tomorrow. But, damned if this poor brain will finally get some much needed Oxygen! LOL

Anyhow, thank you all again for the support this week. I do want to expand at some on the medication I'm taking for the MS and how it works to reduce the inflammation in this body. The MS med I'm on is actually not a "typical" treatment. It works differently than the others, but I definitely think it impacts this body's rate of fluctuation. However, I will have to write on that one later. It's definitely its own post.

Now...it's time for breakfast!!!

Have a wonderful Sunday and a beautiful, blessed week everyone!

Looking forward to the drug discussion egull. My daughter studies this topic a lot. I’ll tune her in to it also. ❤️❤️

Sounds good, wifey! It's definitely and interesting drug. If your daughter wants any point of reference. The name of the drug is called "Tecfidera". Its primary component is Dimethyl Fumerate. And, it costs about $8000/month so it's a pricy little pharmaceutical. But, because it's still a bit "experimental", Big pharma pays for it. I just have to report to an FDA nurse once a year. And, Happy Sunday to you, too Drag!

Egull , I also suffer from sinus headaches quite a bit. They’re absolutely dreadful. Especially the pressure that builds up when you try to bend down to pick up something. I don’t know if you can take Mucinex or not the white and blue pill with decongestant, but it works miracles for me. Also eucalyptus oil a couple of drops you boil some water in a pot you let it cool down a little you cover your head with a towel and you cover your head and inhale the eucalyptus. That also works miracles. Or you can make a special tea. You mash up fresh ginger, squeeze half a lemon, you put a dash of turmeric, and Minooka honey. You boil water, then pour on top of the concoction and let it sit for five minutes then drink. I hope you get well soon.
